Rudy Mettia's career as a fitness coach began at the age of 20, when he joined the United States Marine Corps and was promptly assigned by his base commander to oversee the gym and put in charge of training. At that time, fitness training involved little other than running, sit-ups, and pull-ups. Rudy had the opportunity to build the Marine Base Strength Program and was tasked with administering the yearly fitness test with all base personnel. Rudy had found his life's purpose.
Now, with almost 40 years' of strength training experience, Rudy has walked the talk and seen firsthand the benefits of weight training as a way of life. As an all-around athlete seeking balance, Rudy has spent the past 20 years exploring movement, mobility, and flexibility through yoga practice, studying with renowned teachers such as Maty Ezraty, Annie Carpenter, and Bryan Kest. As a yoga teacher, he has taught hundreds of thousands of students to be "Yoga Warriors" worldwide, and his classes and complete yoga fitness programs are featured on Udaya.com and Poweryoga.com.
As a professional fitness coach, Rudy is poised to share his knowledge, experience, and belief that training for strength leads to a longer and healthier life.

Strength Coach Jennifer Ellis trained and mentored with Master Coach Rudy Mettia for 7 years before taking on and coaching her own students.
Coach Ellis considers her greatest career accomplishment and reward is witnessing Squatbox Gym members overcoming old injuries, chronic pain, and becoming stronger, healthier, happier, and more confident people.
